Hello bloggers! today i'm going to talk about a traditional festivity of easter island knowing as the tapati rapa nui Festival . Tapati festival celebrated every year since  1968 on the fourtnight of the february . This traditionl festivity was created to promoting and mainting the rapa nui culture amongst the islanders, and in particular for generating interest and a sense of identity amongst the children of the easter island, but now it's also an oportunity to shared their culture with the world because in that season the island have a lot of tourits.
During of the celebration the easter island people composed by two clans to represent the ancient cast of Rapa Nui.
The festival consists of numerous dancing and singing competitions, as well as traditional sporting events such as swimming, canoeing, horse racing, haka pei and the island triathlon. Each year, two young female ‘candidates’ compiting to become the queen of the Tapati, and all of the above competitions carry points, meaning that the candidate with the most points at the end of the fortnight is crowned the queen.
